Attendance Policy |
| |
|
| |
| (1) |
A student will be marked “absent” if he/she shows up in the class of any module later than the following time periods: |
| |
- 30 minutes for 3-hour classes |
| |
- 20 minutes for 2-hour and 2.5-hour classes |
| |
- 10 minutes for 1-hour classes and those classes with no grace period |
| |
|
| (2) |
A student who leaves a class of a module early without the permission given by the module lecturer will be marked “absent” for the class. |

Extended Opening Hours of Computer Labs and Common Facilities |
| |
The Academy urges all students to learn to better manage their time in preparaiton of the assessment and strongly emphasise the need for students to have proper sleep especially during assessment period. It is hence not encourage for students to stay overnight on campus. |
| |
|
| |
However, in assisting students the Academy has decided to open up common facilities for students' use on Saturdays and Sunday three weeks prior to assessment. |

We are pleased to inform you that the Creative Industries Scholarships are now available for application online! (see attachment). These prestigious scholarships are targeted at Singaporean students who have achieved excellent academic results and track records in the arts industry. |

Fab-fibe Show 2009 |

We are having an exhibition of Fabric and Fiber (paper) at end of this year and would like to invite designers to participate on the paper toy skin design. This is a collaboration project we work with a designer from Taiwan who created the Love Bear. The Boxy Bat and the Love Bear will be exhibited at the Fab-fibe Show 2009. |

Harper's BAZAAR Singapore Magazine Looking for Student to Paint Mural |
| |
Harper’s BAZAAR magazine is looking for a student to paint stripes on three 10ft by 10ft wooden panels to produce an optical illusion. The mural will serve as a backdrop for their high fashion spread for February 2010. The spread will span 10 pages and the student’s name will be credited at the end of the spread. |

Blueprint Asia is sending a call for students’ submissions to colleges and universities all over the Asian region. Esplanade Youths invites you to join Drama Box’s production crew in February 2010 as they work with Esplanade to co-produce SCENES: Singapore’s Chinese Language Theatre, a project celebrating over 80 years of Chinese Language Theatre in Singapore during Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts. As an intern on SCENES: The Performances, you will have an exclusive opportunity to work with the professionals and be immersed in the production process, from bump-in to showtime! |

Assist with technical elements of the production including lights, sound, props and scenic elements |

Assist with set changes and props sourcing/tracking |

We are currently opening a casting call for a thesis short film titled ‘In Labour’. The short film centers on a single day when a Malay landlord collects the rents from her two foreign female tenants, and will be in Malay and Mandarin. Workshops and rehearsals will begin late December while the shoot is scheduled to commerce at first week of February 2010. |

| |
The Foreign Correspondents Association (Singapore) is calling for entries for the 5th annual Dennis Bloodworth Prize and the 2nd annual Multimedia Prize. The Dennis Bloodworth Prize honours news feature writing by aspiring journalists in Singapore and Malaysia. The winner will secure a paid internship at Bloomberg News.

Through this exercise, they would like some insights (in settings of product evaluation and focus group discussions) to provide actionable feedback in order to improve their product and brand performance. This exercise involves the students being given a body soap product for a period of 1-2 weeks after which focus group discussions would be conducted. |
